Dr. A. Ajanthan

Mr. Alagathurai Ajanthan is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting at the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours from the University of Jaffna and an MBA from Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. He is completing his PhD in Accounting at Griffith University, Australia, with his research focusing on integrated reporting. His teaching and research interests include financial accounting, sustainability reporting and assurance, accounting standards, and contemporary issues in accounting. Ajanthan’s research focuses on sustainability and integrated reporting, and the assurance of both financial and non-financial information. He has published in peer-reviewed journals such as Accounting Perspectives and the International Journal of Accounting and Business Finance, and has presented his work at leading international conferences, including AFAANZ and A-CSEAR. He actively contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for leading journals and conferences. His research achievements have been recognised with awards and grants, including the Griffith Business School Best PhD Paper Award in 2024.
